Seoul Institute of the Arts established ATEC, the place where Art and Science coexist, innovating the paradigm of art creation.
The Arts Engineering Center has a multidimensional space equipped with a research creation space where video, music, exhibitions, and performances can be linked, circulated, and integrated, as well as advanced studios and multimedia imaging equipment, creating an environment to cultivate professionals in the field of digital cultural contents.
While conducting in-depth education in the field of digital cultural contents and integration education with neighboring art fields, various measures are being prepared to realize research and creation that breathes life, experimentation, and challenges, which are the founding ideologies of Seoul Institute of the ARTS, through exchanges with world-class colleges, industries, and experts.

Goal of Establishment of ATEC
The ATEC leads experimental and creative art education and creation through research, development, and dissemination of the convergence of science technology and art, such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and big data, in preparation for the future era of ultra-high speed, ultra-low latency, and ultra-connectedness.
Function of ATEC
Support technology and equipment for art creation and education
- Technology and Equipment support for art creation and education and research on creative utilization, which is actively taking place in Seoul Institute of the Arts.
- Management and operation of ATEC’s video system and facilities and equipment.
- Management and operation of advanced sound facilities and equipment such as stage sound, video sound, stereo sound, speech synthesis and recognition, electronic music, etc.
- Besides that, overall management and support for ATEC’S equipment
Develop and manufacture the incorporation of art with new science and technology
- Research and Development for New Form Arts platform based on Advanced Science·Technology and creation of new convergence arts
- Researching and leading creating arts that can contribute to the development of world culture in the upcoming 4th industrial revolution and hyper-reality convergence era.
- Advanced Technology for imagining and Development of related artworks such as Virtual Reality(VR), Augmented Reality(AR), Mixed Reality(MR), holograms, image recognition

- Provide workshops for sharing and spreading information and technology of ATEC’s excellent facilities and equipment.
- Develop and Suggest course content program for basic knowledge and using the creation of Art and science technology convergence area.
