International Faculty Position Opening

We, Seoul Institute of the Arts and Dongnang Arts Foundation are celebrating our 61st anniversary in 2023. As the oldest private arts institution of higher education in Korea, we have pursued new forms of art with the founding mission of creating art based on the artistic spirit and traditions of Korea. Through experimentation and interdisciplinary exploration, we strive to discover new methods of artistic expression and create content for the world’s stage. 


Seoul Institute of the Arts and Dongnang Arts Foundation invite applications from competent candidates from all over the world. We welcome teaching arts who are enthusiastic about the creation and education of the arts of the future.

1. Open Faculty Positions and Qualifications

• Successful candidates should have the expertise to innovate educational methodology and strengthen specialized art education in the global and digital era based on the founding mission of Seoul Institute of the Arts

• English proficiency preferred. For foreign (non-Korean) candidates, preference will be given to those who can speak Korean

• Seven or more years experience and significant achievement in the related field

(MFA)

Experimental Media and Performing Arts

[ Required Qualifications ]

• Must hold a Master’s degree in relevant field or related field; extensive professional and/or teaching experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree

• A minimum of 3 years professional experience in advanced media convergence contents (VR, AR, MR, XR, AI, UX, etc.).  

[ Desired Qualifications ]

• Experience in teaching aforementioned discipline on a higher education level preferred (academic courses only)

Intercultural Arts

[ Required Qualifications ]

• Must hold a Master’s degree in relevant field or related field; extensive professional and/or teaching experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree

• A minimum of 3 years professional experience in Intercultural Arts(Chanting, Dance, Circus, Visual Art, Pattern Design, Calligraphy, etc.) of the world.  

[ Desired Qualifications ]

• Experience in teaching aforementioned discipline on a higher education level preferred (academic courses only)

• Traditional art-based candidates (Chanting, Dance, Circus, Visual Arts, Pattern Design, Calligraphy) are preferred.

[ Required Qualifications ]

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or related field

• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching aforementioned discipline on a higher education level (academic courses only) 

• A minimum of 3 year professional experience in related field

• Candidates who have published a minimum of two poetry books 

[ Desired Qualifications ]

• Preference will be given to candidates who have won domestic or international literary awards for their poetical works

• More than 8 years of experience as an advertising agency art director or art designer

• Practical graphic design skills using digital design tools

[ Desired Qualifications ]

• Experience as a creative director or campaign director

• Experience in advertising agency

• Must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in English Education or TESOL

• Experience in arts/art education or related field preferred 

• Citizenship from a native English-speaking nation preferred

• Experience in interpreting, translating, and international exchange in the field of art preferred

8. Further information


   ① The results are notified individually and the institute may not hire for the position if there are no qualified persons in the relevant field

   ② As a general rule, all documents submitted should be original and all certificates should be issued within the last three months.

     ※ If the copies or unofficial documents and certificates are submitted, the original and official documents and certificates shall be submitted at the time of appointment.

   ③ The applicant shall be responsible for insufficient documents and errors in the application. The experience without the evidential documents shall not be accepted.

   ④ A certificate issued in a foreign language must be accompanied by an apostille (or a notary of the Korean consulate in the host country, or a notary of the consulate in Korea), and research achievement in a foreign language must be submitted with a Korean summary 

   ⑤ If false entries or documents are found, they may be excluded from the review, or the appointment may be canceled.
